Mission

The Education System supports the mission of the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections by providing all students educational opportunities to acquire academic/vocational skills as a pathway to responsible citizenship.

Introduction

The State of Arizona provides an ungraded high school for adjudicated youth in secure care facilities. ADJC provides programs and related services for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The purpose of IDEA is for all children with disabilities to receive a free appropriate education. It protects parent’s and guardian’s rights, makes sure each student is assessed, and an individual education plan (IEP) is developed when necessary.
